Update an Existing Email Template

When you are ready to update or change an email template in ThinkReservations, click Settings in the black bar at the top, and click Email Templates in the Email Configuration section. The email templates page presents you with a list of all of your existing email templates.

Click on the template you wish you edit. You can adjust the following:

  • Name - This is the arbitrary name of your email template so that you and your staff can identify it.
  • Subject - This is the subject line of the email that is sent with the email. Note that the subject line supports the use of personalized variables.
  • Message - This is the main content or body of the email message. This can include HTML and personalized variables.
  • Attachments - Attach up to two print templates to an email template. Every time this email template is sent, the attachment(s) you choose here will be attached to the email the guest receives. In order to add an attachment, you first need to create the print template that will be attached. To create a print template, see HERE.

To edit, change the text as you see fit. If you need to add a link or wish to add text effects such as bold or italicized text, refer to our Simple Email Edits article for details. Note the list of personalized Variables at the bottom of the Editing email template page. Simply cut and paste them into your message to use them.

If you would like to "preview" these edits, you can open any reservation and begin the process of sending the email, but just never hit the Send button. Note in the preview that if you have any print templates attached to your email template, they will show in the bottom left corner of the Email modal, as shown below.
